TNA iMPACT Slamback: The Ties That Bind Soon Will Break

Ron JohnsonJun 4, 2009

Following a quick recap of last week’s iMPACT and a look at tonight’s broadcast, Lauren catches up with Shane Douglas, who says that he plans to leave his mark on TNA for a very long time.

As the show goes live, Kiyoshi makes his way down to the ring to open the broadcast…followed by Sheik Abdul Bashir.

Daniels starts the match by getting a one-up on The Sheik. Suicide comes in and hits a guillotine leg drop on Bashir. But thanks to a quick kick to Kiyoshi, the UAs get control of the match.

Kiyoshi comes in and hits a farewell on the X-Division Champion. The Un-Americans continue the dominance by tagging in and out, but Suicide recovers and hits a modified Tazz Plex to get the tag to Daniels.

Daniels comes in and hits a running STO on Kiyoshi before getting briefly double-teamed by the duo.

Following a double takedown, Suicide is brought in and drops the Japanese star with a takeover. After taking a suicide dive, Bashir distracts the ref long enough for Shane Douglas to drop Daniels once again and allow the Un-Americans to get the victory.

Back on the program, The Franchise is explaining his actions over the past two weeks. He complains that he never got a second chance as Daniels got. He demands that he gets a second chance or he will make his life a living hell.

In the back, Kip James is approaching Mick Foley about getting a new job. Also, Kevin Nash comes in and complains about his Lethal Lockdown Match with Samoa Joe tonight.

He then says that he isn’t doing the match. But Foley sweetens the deal by offering Nash four times his daily pay if he faces Joe tonight.

It doesn’t take long for Nash to accept the offer.

In the back, Lethal Consequences and The Guns are vowing to remove the mask of Suicide at Slammiversary.

Consequences Creed & Chris Sabin vs. Beer Money

Beer Money gets control of the match to start off as Roode drops Sabin before Storm takes down Creed. Storm and Creed get into a slugfest before Sabin uses a cheap tactic to get control of the match.

Sabin comes in and continues the assault on the Tennessee Cowboy. Creed comes in and uses a springboard clothesline to get control of the match.

After taking out Roode, the unlikely duo focuses on Storm. But after a miscue, Storm is able to get the tag to Roode.

Storm and Sabin battle on the outside, while Roode and Creed battle on the inside. Team 3D comes down and stops The British Invasion from interfering in the match.

After Sabin nails his own partner, Storm hits the Last Call on Sabin, and both take down Creed with the DWI to get the pin and the victory.

In the back, The Beautiful People are looking for a new friend with a familiar face.

Back on iMPACT, Terra is demolishing Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky before telling the TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love, “You’re next…BITCH!”

With that, Love hauls ass out of there running with her tail between her legs. After a quick rundown of tonight’s iMPACT, we now know that coming up next is Mike Tenay’s exclusive interview with the Main Event Mafia.

Every member of the Mafia voices their disapproval for Joe’s threat that they were all going to be taken out. But Sting plays the cooler head and makes it clear that Joe’s actions mean nothing until they’re executed.

Daffney vs. Taylor Wilde

Wilde takes the fight to the artist formerly known as The Governor on the outside. Wilde shows her extreme nature by sending Daffney to the steel steps. But as Wilde continues the assault, Raven and Dr. Stevie make their way to the ring for a “closer” look.

Daffney takes advantage of the distraction and brings the fight straight to Taylor. But Wilde gets back control until Dr. Stevie interferes again.

Following the distraction, Daffney hits the Lobotomy to get the win. After the bell, Daffney continues the assault until Dr. Stevie breaks her off.

Raven grabs the mic and explains why Abyss was his target. He then promises that this will be the foulest medicine that The Monster has ever tasted.

In the back, Jeff Jarrett is making his way to the ring to address Mick Foley and Eric Young.

Intermission

Jarrett calls out who he calls his “good friend” Eric Young. Jarrett makes it clear that Young should have respected the fact that he was not the better man tonight. He gives him a choice to end this now…or take it to the next level.

Young continues to show his disrespect towards the TNA Founder. Young turns his attention to the fans and to Jarrett’s personal life.

Young says that his heart goes out to no one but Jarrett's daughters, who apparently have to settle for second place. With that, Jarrett slaps the taste out of his mouth, and the fight ensues.

After the fight is separated, Jarrett knocks out Earl Hebner. In the back, Mick Foley introduces his new security force: Rocko and Sallie, formerly of the Main Event Mafia.

“The Blueprint” Matt Morgan vs. Petty Officer Jesse Neal

Despite a tough beginning for Neal, Morgan shows his experience every chance he gets. Morgan hits a standing dropkick, but when it’s time to end the match, Morgan refuses to complete the three count.

And again, despite a tough showing by Neal, Morgan delivers The Carbon Footprint to get the win.

In the back, Foley and his new security force heads to the ring.

Mick Foley comes out and makes a match for next week: Samoa Joe will face Booker T and Scott Steiner. He also announces the final KOTM Qualifying Match: “The Icon” Sting vs. Kurt Angle!

Foley then turns his attention to Jeff Jarrett. He then promises that next week, Jarrett will find out that his actions are…hardcore.

In the back, Sting is talking about next week’s match until Matt Morgan barges in and demands a contract with the Mafia.

But Sting tells him that he has no respect, and when he finds it, come talk to him. With that, Morgan tells JB that one way or the other, he is getting into the Mafia.

Kevin Nash (Main Event Mafia) vs. Samoa Joe (Nation of Violence)

Samoa Joe comes out swinging, but so does Nash. Both men swing the kendo sticks on each other, but Nash gets complete control with a stick to the midsection of Joe. Back on the program, Joe has returned the physicality favor to Samoa Joe.

But thanks to a low blow, Nash has control as he wraps around a trash can lid around Joe’s skull. Everytime Joe tries to fight back, Nash grabs another weapon and takes the fight to Joe.

But Joe ducks a stick swing and drops him with a flying kick, a diving Senton and a knee to the skull.

Joe then breaks the kendo stick over the back of Nash and covers him to get the pin and the victory as well as eliminate a member of the Mafia in the process.

When it’s over, all Joe says is “It…is done.” as iMPACT fades to black.
