» Today, June 4th, 2009, is the 35th anniversary of one of the greatest moments in baseball history … wait for it … 10-cent beer night.

Outside of The Drive, this is the most infamous moment to take place at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Please celebrate with a Stroh’s, or Old Style.

Once upon a time, forfeits were commonplace in baseball. Not so much nowadays.

Not surprisingly, the last forfeited MLB game took place in 1995 at Dodger Stadium, where rowdies threw souvenir baseballs on to the field.

» Seriously, Greatest Pro Bowls of all time, and other stuff triple dog dares you to find a more downtrodden sports town than Cleveland?

At least Detroit has the Red Wings. In no place other than Cleveland is there a greater sense of imminent doom and gloom.

The Cavaliers — owners of the best record in basketball — missed out on the NBA Finals fun.

The Indians are sitting in the AL Central cellar.

The Browns are led by Eric Mangini, who has basically done everything in his power to anger Browns fans and players, and made Jets players happy to be able to watch the carnage from afar.

And then, there’s this …

» The NBA Finals open tonight and will result predictably with the team that steamrolled the best team in the NBA losing to the Lakers in something like five games or so. So predictable.
