Rockies Prospect Makes Crazy Catch in Australian League Despite Wall in His Way
Colorado Rockies prospectย Tyler Masseyย did his best Bump Bailey impression last week when he barged through a fence to make a dramatic grab.ย
Roy Hobbs would be impressed.ย
Busted Coverage's Joe Student spotted the posted video floating around the baseball section of Reddit. It features the 24-year-old outfielder/first baseman who is currently getting in some work with the Australian Baseball League's Melbourne Aces.ย

According to the report, the play in question comes during a game held last Friday between the Aces andย the Adelaide Bite.ย
The man hitting a drive to the outfield is Houston Astros prospectย Joe Sclafani, and he is about to beย extremelyย frustrated.ย In the seventh inning, he slams a solid liner to the outfield, only to see it gobbled up by a real go-getter.ย
Instead of getting an extra-base hit, he is merely a pawn in one of the best plays of the game. We say one of because Masseyย apparentlyย went on to hitย a heroic home run in the very next inning.ย
The Adelaide Bite's website reports, "Aces right fielder Tyler Massey went large, batting in a three run homer to extend the Aces' lead to 4-0 before the inform catcher Ryan Casteel stepped up with an RBI triple batting in Jared Schlehuber to make the score 5-0."ย
The Aces would eventually take the game, 7-3. And now Massey has quite the day to flaunt to coaches back home. According to Baseball Reference, he enjoyed a .332 OBP last year with Modesto while also garnering 11 home runs.ย
Unfortunately, it doesn't tell us how many times he did his best Kool-Aid impression to knock down a wall for a stellar catch.ย
