Rob Ryan Reportedly Needs Haircut to Help His Chances of Becoming NFL Head Coach
Appearances apparently go a long way in determining whether someone will get a shot to be an NFL head coach.
New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan is known for his long hair. However, those long locks could be standing in his way of getting a head-coaching job.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen talked about Ryan potentially becoming a head coach on Monday's edition of NFL Insiders, per LarryBrownSports.com's Larry Brown.

People around the league were “truly impressed" with how Ryan turned around the Saints' defense this season. However, NFL executives have told Mortensen that Ryan needs to get a haircut in order to get serious consideration.
“If he wants to be a head coach, he has to cut his hair,” executives told Mort, per Brown. “It is about image for these guys. They want a CEO-type. That’s what they want.”
Rob's brother, Rex, and father, Buddy, have both been NFL head coaches. Neither of them had long hair.

Given Mortensen's report, it will be interesting to see what Ryan does. If he really wants to be a head coach, a haircut may get the process started.
