The Blue Devils probably would have liked for Jabari Parker to bounce back from a seven-point showing vs. Notre Dame, but they didn't need him to carry them to victory.

No, that was Rodney Hood's calling.

The former Mississippi State Bulldogs guard gives Duke (12-3, 1-1) experience, toughness and game-changing abilities. He scored a game-high 27 points and was the solution to the Notre Dame hangover.

"I just was aggressive...." Hood said during a post-game interview with ESPNU. "I got a rhythm going, and it was going from there."

Hood also credited Jabari Parker, Quinn Cook and other teammates for their roles in the win.

Hood added that Parker's struggles won't last for long. The super frosh shot 4-for-12 and scored 12 points. He also had four fouls.

Marcus Georges-Hunt led the Jackets (9-6, 0-2) with 18 points. Daniel Miller, a 7-footer, scored 14 and was relentless in the paint.
