J.R. Smith did it again. Here is a clip from Tuesday's Knicks-Pistons game, featuring Smith attempting to untie Greg Monroe's shoes.

He certainly didn't listen to his coach's advice, per Hardwood Paroxysm's Jared Dubin.

New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith untied Shawn Marion's shoe prior to a free-throw attempt in Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

With a 10-22 record, the Knicks are looking for any type of edge to win games. With that said, this was a bush-league move by Smith, who is having an abysmal season.

On top of that, there's a chance Smith will be fined by the NBA for his act of hijinks, as Bleacher Report's Howard Beck points out via Twitter:

Let's just say that wasn't the smartest thing Smith has done in his career.
