New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith untied Shawn Marion's shoe prior to a free-throw attempt in Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

With a 10-22 record, the Knicks are looking for any type of edge to win games. With that said, this was a bush-league move by Smith, who is having an abysmal season.

On top of that, there's a chance Smith will be fined by the NBA for his act of hijinks, as Bleacher Report's Howard Beck points out via Twitter:

Let's just say that wasn't the smartest thing Smith has done in his career.
