Steroids: What to do About it in Our Favorite Leagues

Michael Workman IIApr 22, 2008

It doesn't matter what sport it's in or what year it will happen.  Steroids will be accepted in a form that may not be as harmful as the steroids used today.  I know steroids today is a touchy issue with some, actually most, people for one reason.  Thus being that their favorite players "back in the day" couldn't use a performance enhancing drug to improve their game because they weren't around.  My point of view is simply  everyone is going to do it and if they don't you can guarantee that that the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string guys are wanting his playing time so they are going to say "shoot me up" or "hand me those".

Yes I agree that too much is uncalled for but lets just say that for example you noticed your favorite player on your NFL team went down in size or he went down in stats all due to a "sickness".  Come on the sickness was that he was going to be tested for performance enhancing drugs and held back on it for a while and lost his size, explosiveness, and sooner or later his starting job.  I am not going to throw out any names of players because I don't want too piss anybody off but on each and every team there is at least 1 guy using.  Whether its the star or the scrub.  Its apart of the game now and let the commissioners decide what they will do about it and what way they want to go about handling the situation.  I just have one request....leave congress out of it!

Congress has got way more important things to deal with than decide who is lying on the podium right at there faces.  Who honestly sat at the television for 6 or 7 hours watching as Roger Clemmons got caught looking dumbfounded as Congress took him and made a fool of him to see if he did steroids.  If I were him I would have said yes and every organization I have played for has had a ton of players use PED's(performance enhancing drugs) or HGH (human growth hormone).  I'll say it again and again lets not get congress involved lets either (a)learn to accept that it will be and forever be apart of our favorite pastime or our hard hitting great game or (b) lets get it as clean as we can without using our lands defense and legal systems when the commissioners can fine them a huge fine suspend them for an entire season and get it heard and realized that we aren't having this stuff anymore.
