Stephen Curry Records Triple Double in Just 22 Minutes vs. Suns

Ben LeibowitzJun 8, 2018

Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry recorded a triple-double in just 22 minutes of action against the Phoenix Suns on Friday.

The Warriors ran the Suns out of Oracle Arena en route to a 115-86 blowout victory, but the biggest story was Curry, who recorded his third career triple-double shortly after the second half began.

Curry had an off shooting night, finishing with just 14 points on 5-of-17 shooting (1-of-6 from downtown). The 16 assists and 13 rebounds he notched, however, were both career highs.

The Suns did a solid job individually on Curry to force him into a lackluster shooting night, but the overall team defense was dreadful. The Warriors point guard decided early that he was going to get his teammates involved, and because he commanded so much attention himself, it made finding open guys that much easier.

The point guard out of Davidson just continues to strut All-Star-caliber stuff as 2013 winds to a close. Although he was arguably the biggest All-Star snub a season ago, he appears to be a shoo-in for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game.
