Seahawks DE Red Bryant Trucks Man on Sideline, Seattle Fan Is Sad

Dan CarsonDec 23, 2013

The Seattle Seahawks don’t ride the Struggle Bus often, but when they do, it’s a brilliant little journey. In the midst of attempting to clinch the NFC West, Seattle misstepped, losing its first home game in the past two seasons to a team it dismantled only a year ago.

The Arizona Cardinals weren't sterling Sunday, but enough went their way to keep their playoff hopes alive and effectively ruin the Seahawks’ party.

Of course, the drama that comes with every Seattle home game wouldn’t be complete without a few puzzling and ridiculous moments. The first was an inadvertent smackdown from Seahawks defensive end Red Bryant.

Bryant was chasing Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer out of bounds when he accidentally ran into/atomized a man in warmups standing on the sideline.

The wild sideline charge was spotted by Mike Dyce of FanSided, and a GIF of the moment was crafted by SB Nation.

For your own personal safety, you must keep your legs, arms and spinal column away from Bryant at all times.

Bryant’s 6’4”, 323-pound frame sent the hapless man flying, nearly knocking him into a boxy, unforgiving metal machine. Fortunately, the man popped up smiling—a remarkable reaction for someone who came inches away from dislocating a vertebra.

If Seahawks fans enjoyed Big Red’s sideline run-in, they probably didn't enjoy it as much as Cardinals fans reveled in the sight of one Seattle fan.

SB Nation forever immortalized the melancholy of the saddest Seahawks fan in a brilliantly captioned GIF—because sometimes your team loses and you have a bad hair day.

Buck up, Seahawks fans. Losing does happen to NFL teams, although it occurs at CenturyLink Field about as often as a Halley’s Comet sighting.

Seattle will look to re-mark its territory and clinch its division next Sunday when the team hosts the St. Louis Rams.

Why so sad, Seattle?
