Sit-Down with Jyles Tucker

When Shawne Merriman was lost for the season with a knee injury last year, the San Diego Chargers turned to a second-year player as outside linebacker.

Jyles Tucker, who was an undrafted free agent just a year earlier, went on to start 12 games, finishing with 5.5 sacks, good for second on the team.

Bleacher Report plans to sit down with the third-year pro to ask him the following questions:

-"Hey Jyles. How're OTCs going so far?"

-"With Merriman healthy again and jumping back into the starting lineup, what's your role heading into the season?"

-"Do you think it's going to be difficult moving back into the reserve role after starting 12 games last year?"

-"Has your perception of being a backup changed at all?"

-"What kind of adjustment was there to being an everyday player?"

-"What did the coaching staff do to accommodate your presence, as opposed to Shawne's?"

-"How much changed for you when Coach Rivera took over the defensive play-calling?"

-"How much did Shawne work with you when he was out last year?"

-"You stepped in as a reserve and only started 12 games, but still managed to finish second on the team in sacks. Is that something you give some of the starters a hard time about?"

-"This team clearly has the talent, but hasn't quite gotten over the hump. What needs to be done to make sure you guys are successful in the playoffs?"

-"Do you agree with the team's decision not to make any major roster moves this offseason, despite your record last year?"

-"Larry English is a hybrid defensive end/linebacker who wasn't drafted to be a backup forever. Do you enjoy the challenge of trying to beat out a player like that for years to come, or do you think the team might have been better served to have addressed a different need?"

-"Is this the best team in the division? What about the league?"
