Transfer Rumour Rater: Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria to Monaco

Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria is set to snub interest from Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United and instead sign for Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

As talkSPORT reported, the Argentinian has become frustrated at the lack of playing time—particularly since the signing of Welsh winger Gareth Bale—and is looking to seek a move elsewhere.

Di Maria was reportedly key in former Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil's transfer to Arsenal, with boss Carlo Ancelotti deeming the Argentine more valuable to the club.

However, the 25-year-old has since fallen out of favour with Ancelotti and could be persuaded by a move to tax-haven Monaco.

Di Maria, according to Spanish paper El Confidencial, has asked his agent Jorge Mendes to start finding him a new club and negotiations with Monaco are already well under way.

Mendes already has links with Monaco with other players he represents at the club.

Di Maria would like a move to be sorted in the January transfer window, however this may not be possible as Ancelotti views him as a Real Madrid player until next June.
