Kerry "Hollywood" Rhodes: The Interview

Kerry Rhodes is one of the most dynamic players on the Jets roster, both on and off the field. You may have seen him dominating wide receivers at Giant Stadium on Sundays, but there might be a lot about Kerry that you don’t know .

Here is how my interview with the Jets All Pro Safety might go down.

Kerry, I am going to get right to it, Budweiser Hot Seat Style. Let’s talk about last season.

What happened at the end? That was an epic collapse. Where does the blame fall? I mean, seriously, how did you feel when your team was only able to put up 3 points against the Seahawks?

Now that the Ol’ Gunslinger is long gone, what was it like being with Brett Favre in the locker room? Was he fun to be around? Did he really disrupt the locker room as much as the media said? How was his relationship with Head Coach Eric Mangini?

More importantly how was your relationship with Head Coach Mangini. It was rumored that there might have been some misunderstandings between the two of you, care to comment?

Your production took a bit of a hit last year in terms of numbers; did you feel you were less effective last season than the two seasons before?

Last season is behind us, let’s look forward to 2009.

How has the Rex Ryan regime been so far? All the talk out of training camp is that the team is starting to mesh well together and that the defense looks fast.

What new players have impressed you the most so far, both on defense and on offense?

What do you believe are realistic goals for this Jets team?

Is this the year Kerry Rhodes makes the pro bowl? Did you believe you were snubbed in 2007?

Kerry you have a pretty big presence on the internet. You have an extremely impressive website KerryRhodes.com (the exploding football in the intro is classic) and you manage your own twitter page . Tell me someone interesting you have been tweeting with.

Have you been tweeting (*wink wink) with  Ciara cause rumor has it you two are dating, any truth to that?

While we are talking about your site, I see that you started the The Rhodes Foundation to help scholars living in America’s impoverished neighborhoods. 

What exactly does the foundation do and how can Jet Fans and members of the community get involved?

Does this foundation directly relate to your childhood experiences?

Speaking of growing up, you were a quarterback all throughout your childhood, through high school and into college. How difficult was it to transition to Safety when you were at Louisville.

Do you benefit as a pass defender because you were a QB for so many years? Do you think you understand the position better than most safeties?

Who is the best QB you have ever been on the field with?

Okay, enough with football, I saved the best and probably most important questions for last.

Your nickname “Hollywood” because you have modeled and been featured in a couple of films, is there any fear the Mark Sanchez will take that name from you? He did go to USC.. 

The media has also been giving Sanchez a hard time about his GQ photo shoot. You have graced many a magazine covers yourself, how did he do?
