Transfer Rumour Rater: Ashley Cole to New York Red Bulls in the January Window

Major League Soccer could be set to add another England veteran to their ranks in January after it emerged that Ashley Cole is being looked at as a winter addition for the New York Red Bulls.

Dave Kidd of the Mirror has reported that the Chelsea left-back is being eyed to fill one of the club's designated marquee spots.

Kidd goes on to say:

"They want to link Cole up with his former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry in the January window before the new MLS season starts in early March."

The report also mentions that Cole has "always been keen to end his career in Major League Soccer," with the time looking as right as ever for the soon-to-be 33-year-old.

Chelsea have a long campaign ahead of them with Jose Mourinho back at the Stamford Bridge helm, but would Cole be a good addition for the New York franchise?
