First half quick analysis

Pinto: Not too much to do beyond take a few crosses down low.

Montoya: Muniain really giving him a tough time. One good raid forward should have resulted in a better chance.

Mascherano: Caught out of position a few times on the counter, but has also stopped some rapid attacks.

Pique: The less-busy of the two centre-backs, but hasn't been able to support midfield much on the ball.

Adriano: A little wasteful in possession and hasn't provided width high up the field.

Busquets: Excellent both on and off the ball.

Xavi: Quiet but effective in possession. Not involved in final third much.

Iniesta: The liveliest attacking midfielder and looks most likely to open Bilbao up.

Alexis: Some good off the ball running but no chances to speak of.

Cesc: Not hugely involved, struggling to contribute significantly.

Neymar: Had the best chance of the game saved. Trouble staying on his feet!

Second half quick analysis

Pinto: Made a few saves from Toquero's headers, but didn't deal well with backpasses from his defence.

Montoya: Not enough from him at either end of the pitch. Had two good chances to score.

Mascherano: Defended well on the ground, but passing out of defence or back to Pinto put team under pressure at times.

Pique: Could not deal with Toquero in the air. Dragged out of position several times.

Adriano: Poor performance in general, compounded by late yellow card.

Busquets: Poor second half. Did not dictate play, booked for arguing and could have seen red.

Xavi: Quiet second half and subbed near the end.

Iniesta: Faded after the break. Very little impressive link-up play between midfield and forwards.

Alexis: Poor delivery, never in dangerous positions in the box.

Cesc: Had to keep dropping deep to get the ball. No real impact.

Neymar: No real end product to speak of. At least he changed his boots.
