Questions I Would Ask Vikings Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson

Tarvaris Jackson may be the most under-appreciated 2008 playoff quarterback entering 2009.  Jackson finished the 2008 regular season strong, but laid an egg in the first round of the NFC playoffs against the Philadelphia Eagles.

This off season, the Vikings traded for Sage Rosenfels from the Houston Texans and have been talking with the currently-retired Brett Favre about the possibility of him playing quarterback as well.

Jackson was drafted by Vikings coach Brad Childress to be the quarterback of the franchise, but that has yet to pan out.

Entering the 2009 season, Jackson must now compete for the starting quarterback job with Rosenfels at least, possibly Favre (a battle Jackson would never win).

These are a few questions I would ask Jackson:

1)  How frustrating was it last season to watch from the sidelines when the quarterback switch was made after your 0-2 start?

2)  Did you learn anything from Gus last season while he was starting, what did he do to try and help you become a better quarterback?

3)  When Gus went down against Detroit and you knew you were going to play and get another shot late in the season like that, what was the first thing that went through your mind?

4)  You throw four touchdowns at Arizona the very next week, all of sudden everyone is back on the Tarvaris bandwagon.  How did that performance feel to you and the way everyone reacted feel?

5)  The Vikings go on to win two of the last three games with you at quarterback, win the division and get the No. 3 seed for the playoffs, yet there was still question as who should have went into the playoffs as the starter, you or Gus.  Did you still feel like you had something to prove when the Eagles game rolled around?

6)  What was your first thought when the Vikings made the move this off season to bring in Sage?

7)  Do you think having a competition with Sage for the starting role will help you to improve as well?

8)  What about the Brett Favre rumors, have they been a distraction to you?

9)  Do you want to see Favre become a Viking?

10) When the Vikings drafted Percy Harvin this year, was he someone you wanted to see on your team?

11) How do you think Harvin will fit in with the team?
