Sources suggest that Arsenal have joined in the race to sign Dundee United sensation Ryan Gauld, the youngster being dubbed "Baby Messi" by his teammates.

Mark Wilson of the Daily Mail has reported that the Gunners are the latest club interested in signing the 17-year-old despite the long line of creative midfield talent they already boast.

Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs mentioned as having scouts on hand to see Gauld contribute an astonishing four assists in last weekend's 4-1 thumping of Partick Thistle.

However, Dundee United's Scottish Cup meeting with Kilmarnock on Friday evening presents the Gunners with their chance to take a look at the teenager.
