Go, Man, Go: Cleveland Cavaliers
One for the money; two for the show; three to get ready and go man go (on the basketball court)!
It's 7:42 pm in Cleveland, Ohio. I am in the basement on Harold Street, visiting my grandchildren.
In a few minutes, I am going to mount up (on the couch), lay back and enjoy a basketball game.
Lucky me. I planned my visit at a perfect time. Everyone is speculating and trying to forecast the chances of the Cleveland Cavaliers winning three consecutive games. My son-in-law, a math teacher in the Cleveland School District, is 100 percent for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
If I want to continue to enjoy the hospitality and fine food, it makes sense for me to "yip and yell" about basketball like I do for football, especially when the Oakland Raiders are playing.
To get ready for the game, I googled the roster and the schedule.
It looks like I will be in Cleveland for three consecutive games. I am excited.
Why not? If a ninety year old woman got her cataracts removed so that she would not miss seeing the game, I can certainly return professional basketball to my sports menu.
On the breaking news in Cleveland, they showed the senior citizen jumping up and out of her wheelchair. She quipped, "If they win, she's going to get out of that chair and walk!"
So, to the Cleveland Cavaliers, "Don't let that lady down. Win that game and be a part of her miracle."
Sports is certainly a healing force in some communities. A victory tonight will mean a shout to "rise up and walk."
A victory will also mean that some of the guys can recant Horace Brown's song that was popular in 1996:
Yeah, yeah...
One for the money
Two for the show
Three to get the honeys
Here we go
One for the money
Two for the show
Three to get the honeys
Here we go
M-o-n-e-y
It's all good with me
Finally, I can afford
The life of luxury
And I remember in the day
Mama had to work so hard
Just to pay the rent
All the money spent
Had to get another job
Now we're living in a
(Eight room mansion on the hill)
And we sipping on (Sipping on)
(Champagne, when we chill)
And we riding (the Lex Coupe)
(Beamer and the Benz)
All over the world (From the East)
(To the West coast, we're making ends)
See, we do it
One for the money
Two for the show (we do it)
Three to get the honeys
Here we go
(We do it) one for the money
Two for the show (we do it)
Three to get the honeys
Here we go
It's true, it's what we live for
Cause we love to sing
We gonna freak you up and down
It's how we do our thing
And to the ladies in
The house tonight, looking fly
You got it right
It's gonna be an after party
And I've got to have somebody
And take em to my
(Eight room mansion on the hill)
We'll be sipping champagne
(Sipping on champagne when we chill)
And we're riding, ohh (the Lex Coupe)
(Beamer and the Benz)
All the players from the
East to the West coast (from the East)
(To the West coast, we're making ends)
Ohh, this is why we do it
One for the money
Two for the show (we do it)
Three to get the honeys
Here we go
(We do it) one for the money
Two for the show (we do it)
Three to get the honeys
Here we go....
Why we sing (why we sing)
It's the joy it brings (joy it brings)
You know that you like
Our style (the reason why)
The reason why we do what we do
See we got a love for the music
Simple as one, two, three
Sing it
One for the money (yeah)
Two for the show (do it)
Three to get the honeys
Here we go (we do it)
One for the money (yes, we do)
Two for the show (oh, two)
Three to get the honeys
Here we go
Enjoy the game.
