Five Minutes with a Fortunate Flacco
I’m one for believing that the opportunity might someday present itself when I am able to ask the questions I’ve always wanted to ask of an athlete. And, well, I want to be ready…Preparation is half the battle, right?
So, without any personnel hesitation, I’d choose the Baltimore Ravens’ Joe Flacco. I think he was the answer for a team that, lately, seemed to be without an answer when it came to offense. Although the defense represented for the team, the inabilities of the offense was finally catching up with the entire franchise.
Although it was unfortunate for Kyle Boller when he injured his shoulder and Troy Smith when he fell ill (since they were competing for the starting quarterback position), it was a huge break for, then rookie, Flacco to show what he had…And did he? He became the first rookie in playoff history to win his first two playoff games. Wait, I have more…he connected on 60 percent of his passes and had a quarterback rating of 80.3. A rookie quarterback!...

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Now, if Flacco sat down with me, the questions would go something like this:
- The perception is that one of the biggest adjustments that players have to make from college to the pros is managing the speed of the game. At what point can you say the game slowed down for you?
- What do you think is the biggest thing you brought to the Ravens?
- As quarterback, what has the road been like to acquiring the respect of your team and in becoming a true leader?
- It seems like you’re on the right path, but what are your goals to becoming a top tier quarterback?
- Let me in on your pre-game rituals and superstitions.
- I will leave you on this note…What is your favorite food?
As you can see, I’ve thought a lot about the time when Flacco and I would sit down together. It’s not every day that you can sit down and talk with a person who’s potency changed the pulse of the franchise. Joe, be sure to add me to the itinerary…
