Transfer Rumour Rater: Nemanja Matic to Manchester United in the January Window

Having failed to make a go of things during his Chelsea career, Nemanja Matic is allegedly being teed up for a Premier League return thanks to Manchester United.

The Mirror's John Cross recently reported that the Benfica star has had a £20 million price tag placed on his head, writing:

"Matic has been watched by United scouts in his last two games and the Old Trafford giants have stepped up their interest. Champions United are desperate to strengthen their midfield in January but could face competition from Italians Napoli."

Given United's troubles in central midfield lately, it's no surprise to see Matic linked with another tough-tackling engine-room asset.
