Officiating the Playoffs: Biased Fans and Corrupt Officals

HenryMay 28, 2009

I know it's not just myself who thinks that the officiating in these playoff games has been terrible. It has come to a point where fans are smacking on their thighs, or pulling their hair while screaming “What the hell?”

And then there are those people that just don't see them. But how biased can you be that you don't see these damn calls?

Last night's game five between the Lakers and Nuggets has definitely proved even further of this officiating scrutiny.  The night before we even saw how LeBron got to go to the line for falling by himself without actually getting fouled. Also, we saw how Howard didn’t go to the line, even though he did get fouled.

Keep in mind, I'm not a fan of either team or player, but I want to watch a great game because I love basketball.

Yesterday Nene fouled out because Gasol pushed him. Are you serious? How pathetic are these calls? Obviously the Laker fans will overlook this.

What about when Ariza made the layup in the fourth quarter and a foul was called on Kleiza? How can you get a foul if you're up in the air simultaneously with the opposing player, without actually touching him?

These calls are getting out of hand. What about when Farmar threw the basketball outside the court and nothing was called? Imagine if Billups or Martin did that.

I won't be surprised if in the Cleveland-Orlando series, Cleveland wins three straight games. The NBA has developed a total lack of sportsmanship and has become more of a business.

To the biased fans that can't see this truth, I have no words for you. This is obviously transparent in getting the Lakers-Cavs into the finals.

It's not about, "Oh, what about the Nuggets and Magic calls?" How far would the Lakers or Cavs have come if it weren't for these officials. What happened to this game?
