Bleacher Report's Own Crittenden Family Did More Than Write
The Crittenden family is not your usual collection of people. Franklin only thought he'd retire until starting over as a writer.
His wife is an artist who takes great ideas and turns out fantastic collectible artwork. The only child I know about is an actor in Hollywood and is making a big film even as I write.
They may do unusual things, but they are also unusually generous. I have the great pleasure of owning a Crittenden masterpiece. I have it proudly displayed in my "Alabama Shrine" and look at it every day.
When I told them how pleased I was with it and how I wanted to purchase one to auction at our local Red Elephant Club they would not hear of it and simply sent me one. They wanted to help us raise money for athletic scholarships.
Tonight it was auctioned off for $300.
There are wonderful people here at Bleacher Report doing wonderful things that few ever know of. The Crittendens are some of those people.
I am proud to have Franklin as my friend and can't wait to hug his wife and thank her for her talent and generosity.
Franklin may not know that his Bio picture is a reverse image and that Alabama is backward on his shirt, but I know his heart is in the right place.
For all you people that do more than write, thank you.
Thanks to all the editors that clean up our messes, for the leaders that shape the board and for the advertisers that make it all possible.
There are many that do so much behind the scenes. I just thought that this was one story you needed to know.
Maybe it will help inspire one of you to take the extra step, to help out, hold out a hand or just comment on an article you enjoyed. Give some stars, become a fan, make a pick of the day and then give us your own thoughts.
It's people like the Crittendens that keep me going. People like them and you make it all worthwhile.
