TNA Impact Wrestling: Turning Point Preview, Rumors and News for November 21
TNA has faced plenty of criticism over the last several months, but this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, dubbed Turning Point, has been booked perfectly leading up to the event.
There is genuine excitement surrounding Thursday’s free pay-per-view quality show.
Wrestling fans will be treated to a bevy of quality matches and storyline development this week, including two first-round matchups in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament that feature Magnus vs. Samoa Joe and James Storm vs. Bobby Roode.
Add in the main event between Aces & Eights leader Bully Ray and his former friend Ken Anderson, with major stipulations that will change the course of the company, and there is a genuine excitement about Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling.
Where: Universal Studios, Orlando, Fla.
When: Thursday, Nov. 21, 9 p.m. ET
Watch: Spike TV
Aces & Eights Storyline Finally Coming to an End
In the main event of the evening, the Aces & Eights storyline will finally reach its culmination as former vice president Ken Anderson goes on-on-one with club president Bully Ray. As if the animosity between these two former friends and current foes wasn’t enough, the caveats that Anderson will have to retire if he loses and Bully Ray must disband the gang if he is defeated have created legitimate excitement around this matchup.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Which Superstar Walks Away Victorious?
Despite the Aces & Eights storyline running its course and embodying what many fans had come to dislike about TNA’s booking, there is a chance Bully Ray walks away with the win and Anderson is forced to leave the company. Anderson mentioned his wife’s pregnancy last week, and that could be an indication that he may be taking time off to be with his loved ones.
The Aces & Eights angle will be coming to an end sooner rather than later, and Thursday’s Turning Point should be the gang’s last chance to thrive before eventually disbanding. The hope is that Anderson wins and this angle finally reaches its conclusion.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Interesting Storyline Revivals
There were few wrestling fans that still enjoyed the Aces & Eights storyline after Bound for Glory, but the hype around this main event is undeniable. The fans that hate this angle are being intrigued with the group’s possible disbandment, and those that continue to support the gang will be excited to see two of the top members finally squaring off.
Whether you love this story or hate it, this week's match will have even the most jaded TNA fan enjoying the show. This proves once again that smart, fundamental booking is all it takes to get wrestling fans to invest their interest once again

The Heavyweight Tournament and More Turning Point Hype
The possible implosion of Aces & Eights has many TNA fans excited, but the anticipation is growing exponentially with the help of two of the most appealing first-round matchups the company could have booked for the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament.
With Magnus squaring off against former Main Event Mafia member Samoa Joe in a Falls Count Anywhere match and former tag team partners and longtime foes James Storm and Bobby Roode battling for the right to advance in a Bullrope match, Thursday’s show will feature at least three PPV-quality matches.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Which Superstars Will Advance to Round 2?
Wrestling fans love the concept of tournaments, and TNA is executing this storyline to perfection thus far. The fundamental booking through the first several weeks likely indicates that Roode will steal the win in his match over Storm on the way to an eventual meeting with Kurt Angle. Magnus will likely beat Joe as the company continues to build the young star as a top heel and as one of the future international faces of Impact Wrestling.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Well-Booked First-Round Matchups
No matter which superstars walk out victorious Thursday night, TNA has set the stage for two of the most interesting matchups conceivable. There is history and an interesting backstory behind each of these bouts, and the company is giving casual fans a reason to care about what is happening on the broadcast each week now.
If this is a sign of things to come, TNA is moving toward a very bright future.
As if the three PPV-quality matches weren't enough, the dream match booked between Abyss and Joseph Park for Thursday night (yes, I mean that) will have fans ready for a wild night of action. There is little doubt that this week’s Turning Point will go down as one of the best episodes of Impact Wrestling this year.
