McCoy was playing extremely well prior to pulling up lame. He was averaging more than five yards per carry and had racked up 86 total yards and a touchdown.

The elusive back began Week 11 as the NFL's leading rusher, having accumulated more than 930 yards on the ground through the first 10 games of the season.

McCoy is on pace to finish with a career high in rushing yards, and his 4.8 yard-per-carry average this year is his best since 2011.

McCoy has also been a dynamic receiving threat in Chip Kelly's offense, averaging a career-best 10.9 yards per reception in 2013.
