Jace Amaro Injury: Updates on Texas Tech TE's Status, Likely Return Date
Jace Amaro looked to have suffered a head injury in the second quarter of Texas Tech's game with Baylor on Saturday night.
The junior tight end was going across the middle of the field to catch a pass when he was rocked by Bears safety Ahmad Dixon, per the Associated Press' Stephen Hawkins:
"Tech TE Jace Amaro holds on for catch after crushing blow by Ahmad Dixon. But Amaro very slow to get up.

Amaro was down, motionless on the turf for a short time, before getting up and walking off under his own power.
The Red Raiders' radio network reported Amaro was sent to the locker room in order to have a gash on his chin looked at, via the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal's Don Williams:
"#TexasTech radio reports Jace Amaro being taken to locker room with gashed, bleeding chin. Took big hit on 19-yard catch.

It's a tough blow for the player. Before exiting the game, he had four receptions for 55 yards and two touchdowns.
Coming into the game, Amaro led Texas Tech in both receptions and yards. In such a huge game, losing your top receiver is difficult to overcome, especially when trying to match an offense like Baylor's.
