Memphis Or Bust...(On Why Memphis Should Draft Rubio)

Well yes I am a Memphis fan and if you look at all the teams left in the finals, all of them are very exciting to watch. Other than Cleveland, you can say each team has at least three great players on their roster.

I understand why many people do not want to draft Rubio, because he might be the next Darko, but honestly, so can many of the players Memphis is considering drafting.

The reason most young guys are busts is because they are put in situations that they are not ready for at that age, and drafting Rubio he will be our third option and his first couple years we will not have to look for him to lead our team.

I have seen him play and he plays very smart basketball and that is exactly what we need. I also understand that we have Conley Jr., but every great team has great players coming off the bench.

Just look at JR Smith for one. He is the X factor on the Nuggets team and I believe we can make things work with Rubio and Conley on the same team.

We can find other decent big man to rebound or threw free agency, but a player with this potential does not come around often.

Thabeet will basically be just a big man in the center and I believe picking up Paul Milsap off free agents is a MUCH better move because he can also score and is a proven rebounder in the NBA. He also brings a lot of toughness to this team.

Rubio also plays alongside Gasol in Spain, so I believe this is early chemistry that is very good for this young team. The people against drafting Rubio are looking into only how this can turn out bad for us,  not how good this can be.

Imagine if in about three years Rubio being at his potential which many say is Steve Nash like. We have a player in OJ Mayo who in three years will be a top five scorer in the league, we will have Rudy Gay who will be one of the top wing men in the NBA,  and we will have one of the best point guards in Rubio.

People only look at the European players that have been busts, but if you think about it how many college stars could not translate their game to the NBA?
