NO GAME-WINNING THREE FOR LEBRON TONIGHT Magic Lead 3-1

John BollerMay 26, 2009

To be a three, or not to be a three?

That is the question and answer to the Eastern Conference Finals.

And all the while the three pointer has become the Achilles heel of the Cleveland Cavaliers, their MVP and the NBA’s MVP, has scored 40 points or more in three- out-of-the- four Eastern Conference Final games.

Even more remarkable that that, in James’ 35-point night in game two is the only win the Cavaliers were able to win.

In, perhaps their biggest game of the season, the Orlando Magic showed how they have mastered the 3-point. They shot 17-of-38 from long range, and finished the game at 40-of-80 from the field.

Again, now into the fourth game of the series, Cleveland still tried to beat Orlando at their own game.

Is Stan Van Gundy, who looks like he is trying to pass a kidney stone at time on the bench, out coaching Mike Brown or is Brown just not even coaching?

Another night of jacking up three’s has me thinking he is being out-coached. But, if they shoot up another 22 three’s in game five like they did tonight.  Brown is simply just a fan in this series.

Cleveland’s Mo Williams and DeLonte West had a combined 35 points tonight. But, the three was still too much from them, zero-of-six combined, and only 12-of-30 from the field.

Also, only 14 of the 35 points came in the second half and overtime, ten in the third, and West had two field-goals in the fourth.

James recorded his first double-double of the series. He added 12 rebounds to his 44 points, and dished out seven assists. In game three he missed a double-double by only one assists. James nearly got a triple-double tonight falling short by only three dimes. In game three, he also had seven rebounds.

Unfortunately, the, “Kingly” effort, in the end, can’t do it alone.
