As a Saint?
Yes, yes, yes!
New Orleanians are second lining the streets. The city is awarded the 2013 Superbowl, for a record 10th time, and the Great Dane has come home again.
"Bless your heart", you thought I meant as a player. I am sorry to inform you that Mr.Andersen will not be part of the roster for this season, but he will forever be a Saint.
Morten has retired and our city will bestow an honor on him that is long overdue. He will be inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame the weekend of Nov. 5, 2009.
During a recent visit to New Orleans, Morten took a trip down memory lane with CBS broadcaster and local voice of the Saints, Jim Henderson. They reminisced about his star status and Morten's restaurant, Champion's.
Of course, the first winning season in 1987 and the 1991 NFC West Championship Season were discussed. Andersen even admitted, "deep down I was happy for the Saints and the city" in regards to Atlanta's loss to the Saints on Sep. 25, 2006. "No-one was going to beat the Saints that night."
The Saints, the city, and the fans have a very unique relationship; they always have. Over 70 percent of the city's inhabitants are born and raised Louisianans who love their boys in Black and Gold. The good, the bad, and the ugly—we still love them!
