Scotland vs. USA Cricket 2013: Scorecard and Recap from Dubai
Scotland beat USA by seven wickets with seven balls remaining to secure a simple World Cup Qualifier warm-up victory at the ICC Academy in Dubai.
Peter Steindl’s team batted second in an encounter that remained comfortable for the Scots.
Calum MacLeod produced a total of 46 runs from 43 balls at the top of the order, while Kyle Coetzer blitzed 35 from just 24 balls after Richie Berrington was the first to be dismissed on 10.
While MacLeod eventually fell to Neil McGarrell, 16 runs from Matt Machan and 11 from Rob Taylor were enough to clinch victory for a Scotland side that never looked like losing this one.
Alongside McGarrell, both Timroy Allen and Danial Ahmed grabbed wickets for the Americans.

The USA had previously failed to exert any kind of dominance during an ill-fated batting spell that was largely rescued through Steven Taylor’s healthy total of 55 runs from 51 balls.
Adam Sanford also managed to add 28 as the nation’s batting efforts came to a close, but this performance was riddled with uninspiring displays from a middle order of Orlando Baker (six runs, 12 balls), Allen (eight runs, 12 balls) and Elmore Hutchinson (two runs, four balls).
Iain Wardlaw took the bowling plaudits with three wickets for Scotland, while Majid Haq also grabbed two leg before wicket calls. Neil Carter and Safyaan Sharif completed the rout with one wicket each.
