New Orleans Saints Biggest Fan

Kathleen AlexanderMay 26, 2009

My favorite team in the NFL is the New Orleans Saints for various reasons, two being Drew Brees and Coach Sean Payton.

I have always enjoyed watching Drew Brees and have followed him during his pro career with the San Diego Chargers as well as his college career at Purdue, where he was drafted in the second round.

I also think he is a great person, since he and his wife created the Brees Dream Foundation where they are dedicated to raising money for cancer research and for children’s education and surroundings in New Orleans, San Diego and the West Lafayette areas.

Drew has been nominated and chosen for numerous awards, including NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2004 and NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2008. He set league records for completions and helped his team set team records for touchdowns.

I greatly respect Sean Payton because he is already one of the greatest coaches the Saints have ever seen.

He is the only coach to get the team to an NFC Championship and was voted NFL Coach of the year. His offensive plays and structure has been phenomenal to watch. He has also coached two players with the top two records for passes in their first two seasons.

The Saints had a great year this past season, leading the league in points, yards and passing yards as well as thanks to a great lineup including Brees, Reggie Bush, Marques Colston, Duece McAllister, Lance Moore, Devery Henderson, Jonathan Vilma, Randall Gay and many more.

The Saints have come together to work as a team and have produced amazing results. Their efforts did not lead them to the Super Bowl, but that could be right around the corner if they continue to play as they played this past season.
