Joe's 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News

Joe Burgett May 26, 2009

Welcome to another edition of Joe's 411: B/R Pro-Wrestling News. It was a bit late this time, but you know how Holidays are. I have kept you waiting enough, here is THE best wrestling news on the net today.

Mr. Kennedy's WWE status

As we all saw on Monday Night RAW last night, Mr. Kennedy made his return to the WWE. He made his return during the Flair/Orton segment, and then mentioned he was the last man in the 5-on-5 match later that night in which his team won.

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

The WWE was very excited to get him back. Kennedy has helped ratings out in the past, as he is someone people like. The only problem with Kennedy is that he gets injured too much.

He claimed he would be the next WWE Champion, but do not think he will, WWE fans. The WWE will most likely put him in some Title matches, but he will not win them. The WWE wants to make sure he will stay healthy.

If you are familiar with Kennedy, you know he gets injured in some way every year. He just had surgery back in the fall and did a few things with the WWE out of the ring. But, even though the WWE likes him a lot and know he is a fan favorite, he needs to prove he can stay healthy.

If he can for at least a year or so, I can see him winning a World Title at some point. But not any time soon, fans. The WWE did manage to get him back finally and he was needed, as Triple H and Shawn Michaels are still out.

HBK just said a week ago he would not be coming back as soon as intended. Not because he can't, but for family reasons.

So, Kennedy will in a way, take his spot. HBK will still come back big, so don't worry fans. Michaels will obviously not be a World Champion again, but I see him still getting main event matches.

Same with Kennedy, we will see him in a lot of main event matches with HHH and HBK out. And we do not want to see Batista/Orton every week, so Kennedy will be a big help there.

Victoria's TNA status

If you saw TNA Sacrifice this past Sunday, you saw Raven and Shane Douglas make their way to TNA. Both are former World Champions and have done a stint with TNA in the past.

TNA managed to shock us all with that, but even more so when the signed former WWE Women's Champion Victoria.

Victoria is not her real name, as it is owned by the WWE. So, she will debut under her real name. She is stated to be one of Dr. Stevie's patients and be put into the storyline with Abyss, Daffney, and Taylor Wilde.

Lisa Marie Varon may not be put into that storyline right away, as she is just not making her way to TNA. But it seems that is where TNA will go with her.

Varon also mentioned in the past she wanted to do MMA work, as it was a personal thing she wanted to do. But, she also wanted to stay in the wrestling world too.

She mentioned in her myspace blog around the time she left the WWE that she said to "never say never" and a return to wrestling. I guess that comment was something we should have taken a bit more seriously.

Varon was one of the best Divas wrestling wise for the WWE. When she left, they really lost something big. They had her put over undeserving Divas, and she was really going downhill there.

I feel in TNA she will be able to spread her wings as she did in the past with the WWE during her Women's Championship runs.

She will be a good presence for the TNA Knockouts, in my opinion. She is set to debut tonight in TNA's iMPACT taping. So that would mean we will be able to see her in action this Thursday.

Sticking with TNA...

Big TNA event

On TNA's official website they have a countdown clock that ends at the same time as next week's iMPACT supposedly making you think something big will happen then.

No one has a clue about what it is, but TNA has been pretty good about keeping secrets lately. Especially with their TNA mobile clues.

Raven may be something they are trying to sell as something big, possibly Taz. Word is that Taz (which is able to be his name because it is not the WWE's Tazz) is the influence on Samoa Joe's new character.

He may be able to debut then since there is supposedly something stopping him from being able to appear on TV right away.

One would think it was a no compete clause, but Taz was not released he just didn't renew his contract when it was up.

So, that would mean the WWE has nothing on him and he can debut right away. But TNA has said that the WWE has been saying he can't, so there must be something up.

It may just be something rumored so they can get more attention to the Taz debut, but the countdown clock could be counting down to the debut of Taz. But no one knows for sure just yet other than TNA of course.

The offical message on TNA's site is “TNA will deliver a powerful shot in.”

WWE on Hulu

WWE has finally joined the rest of the entertainment business and joined up with the video on demand network Hulu.com. They will be letting SmackDown and ECW shows go up on the site, but not RAW for some reason or another.

The problem is that Hulu is only legally accessible for the US, so everyone else will have to go to Youtube the day after or find another stream or something. I would try to watch it on TV if that is possible too.

If you can't watch it right when it comes on, just record it. They count as ratings, so the WWE will have no problem with you doing so.

Triple H on Ric Flair wanting to wrestle again

During a recent appearance on the "Busted Open" show on Sirius XM radio, WWE superstar and 13 time World Champion Triple H told Dave LaGreca that he has mixed feelings regarding Ric Flair's desire to return to the ring after his retirement at WrestleMania 24.

Triple H added, "There's a part of me that's bittersweet. As much as I enjoy Ric on the show and I miss seeing Ric Flair on the show, I feel that he was given the ultimate sendoff in the business.

"There have been so many guys in the past...they retire and unretire then they retire and they unretire. It's almost a joke when they un-retire. He really wanted to be the guy who said, meant it, and did it.

"I don't know if he misses the business or he needs the money. I'm not sure what it is, but if he's thinking about coming back there has to be a pretty good reason because he was pretty adamant about that never happening."

You can't blame Triple H for saying this. He knows that Flair does not have the ability to wrestle as he could years back. He is too old to still wrestle at a high level. I will say what Triple H is afraid to say.

He doesn't want you back in the ring Flair, he feels you are disrespecting the WWE by coming back to wrestle. Now, Triple H would have no problem seeing him as a manager or GM.

He does not care if he has a role with the WWE, he just does not want to see him in the ring again. It is not that he does not respect Flair and what he has done for the WWE and wrestling period.

Triple H and Flair are documented friends, they have a good relationship. But, Triple H knows as much as he loves Flair, he does not want to see him in the ring again.

And who can blame him?

That is all for the 411 today. Check out the others coming up during this week. Also, if you have any questions for the B/R Weekly Wrestling Mailbag, let me know. You can contact me here in comments, on my profile, or e-mail me at: sprtfreak18@bellsouth.net
