Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: Speed Demons

Just because you’ve slipped behind in the Stolen Base category doesn’t mean you can’t catch up. Here are some reasonably available SB threats.

Josh Anderson, OF, Detroit Tigers

Josh swiped three bases last week but struggled elsewhere. He went 3-for-17 (.176) without a Run, HR, or RBI. On the year he’s hitting .272 with nine SBs, 11 Runs, 0 HRs, and nine RBI. 

He’s owned in five percent of Yahoo!, 2.8 percent of ESPN, and six percent of CBS leagues.

Ángel Pagán, OF, New York Mets

Pagán also stole three bases last week without contributing much in other categories. He went 2-for-15 (.133) with two Runs and an RBI. On the year he’s hitting .261 with three SBs, three Runs, and an RBI in nine games. He’s owned in less than one percent of fantasy leagues.

Jeremy Hermida, OF, Florida Marlins

Jeremy picked up two SBs last week while hitting .333 (12-for-36) with four Runs, a HR, and three RBI. On the year he’s hitting .275 with four SBs, 19 Runs, four HRs, and 17 RBIs. He’s owned in 28 percent of Yahoo!, 8.1 percent of ESPN, and 43 percent of CBS leagues.

Chase Headley, 3B/OF, San Diego Padres

Headley also stole two bases last week. He hit just .158 (3-for-19) with two Runs, a HR, and two RBI. On the year he’s hitting .234 with six SBs, 14 Runs, four HRs, and 17 RBIs. He’s owned in 21 percent of Yahoo!, 34.3 percent of ESPN, and 19 percent of CBS leagues.

Scott Hairston, 3B/OF, San Diego Padres

Hairston stole two bases last week while hitting .308 (8-for-26) with three Runs, a HR, and three RBI. On the year he’s hitting .333 with five SBs, 13 Runs, five HRs, and 20 RBI. He’s owned in 15 percent of Yahoo!, 7.8 percent of ESPN, and 25 percent of CBS leagues.

Elvis Andrus, SS, Texas Rangers

Elvis swiped two bags last week while hitting .320 (8-for-25) with three Runs, a HR, and an RBI. On the year he’s hitting .285 with six SBs, 21 Runs, three HRs, and nine RBI. He’s owned in 27 percent of Yahoo!, 58.9 percent of ESPN, and 48 percent of CBS leagues.

Adam Kennedy, 2B/OF, Oakland A’s

Last week Kennedy hit .517 (15-for-29) with two SBs, two Runs, a HR, and 10 RBI. On the year he’s hitting .441 with three SBs, six Runs, two HRs, and 13 RBI in 15 games. He’s owned in less than one percent of Yahoo!, 3.6 percent of ESPN, and 20 percent of CBS leagues.

Scott Podsednik, OF, Chicago White Sox

Last week Pods hit .357 (10-for-28) with two SBs, three Runs, and three RBI. On the year he’s hitting .303 with three SBs, six Runs, and five RBI in 20 games. He’s owned in two percent or fewer of fantasy leagues.

Willie Harris, 2B/3B/OF, Washington Nationals

Harris stole two bases while hitting .368 (7-for-19) with four Runs and an RBI. On the year he’s hitting .281 with three SBs, 13 Runs, one HR, and nine RBI. He’s owned in one percent of fantasy leagues.

Matt Tolbert, 2B/3B/SS, Minnesota Twins

Tolbert had two SBs while hitting .227 (5-for-22) with three Runs, a HR, and four RBI. On the year he’s hitting .197 with two SBs, nine Runs, one HR, and eight RBI in 17 games. He’s owned in one percent of fantasy leagues.

Randy Winn, OF, San Francisco Giants

Winn had two SBs as well, hitting .414 (12-for-29) with three Runs and an RBI. On the year he’s hitting .283 with eight SBs, 23 Runs, two HRs, and 19 RBIs. He’s owned in 28 percent of Yahoo!, 26.9 percent of ESPN, and 43 percent of CBS leagues.

Emilio Bonifacio, 2B/3B, Florida Marlins

Emilio went 8-for-33 (.242) with two SBs, a Run, and two RBI last week. On the year he’s hitting .258 with nine SBs, 25 Runs, one HR, and 11 RBI. He’s owned in 36 percent of Yahoo!, 44.9 percent of ESPN, and 41 percent of CBS leagues.
