Usain Bolt Claims He Ate 1,000 Chicken McNuggets at 2008 Olympics

Kyle NewportJun 8, 2018

Have you ever wondered what the world's greatest athletes eat during the Olympics?

In his new book, "Faster Than Lightning," track star Usain Bolt claims that he ate 1,000 Chicken McNuggets during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, according to Susannah Cahalan of the New York Post.

Bolt apparently thought that Chinese food was "odd," so he went to McDonald's throughout his 10 days in Beijing. He was 22 years old at the time.

The amount he had per meal varied. Some meals he would have a box of 20 McNuggets, and others he would have multiple boxes. He estimated that he ate 100 McNuggets per 24 hours during his 10 days there.

“Man, I should have gotten a gold medal for all that chowing down,” Bolt writes.

Eating that many McNuggets during the Olympics might seem crazy, but the fastest man on the planet didn't let it slow him down.

In case you were wondering, each McNugget has 47.5 calories and 3 grams of fat, according to McDonald's nutritional information.

Bolt won three gold medals at the 2008 Olympics: the 100 meter, 200 meter and 4x100 meter relay.
