5 Traditional Survior Series Match Lineups That Could Happen
WWE's next pay-per-view is one of the most loved, and most traditional on the calendar. Survivor Series is the second longest running pay-per-view in WWE history, behind WrestleMania, having been around since 1987.
The WWE is starting to heat up now with the WrestleMania program starting to take shape, slowly but surely. That means we are likely to see some traditional Survivor Series matches take place as the WWE looks to both bury current rivalries that have run their course, and also start new ones.
Some five-on-five matches could be on the cards for November's show, as the roster is certainly looking crowded at this moment in time, with Superstars like Dolph Ziggler not even being booked for the previous pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell.
Here, Bleacher Report looks at five potential five-on-five Survivor Series matches that could take place at the event, opening doors for some, but shutting them for others.
Tag Team Elimination Match
1 of 5
OK, so it wouldn't be the most traditional of Survivor Series matches, but with the amount of tag teams in the company right now, it would certainly make sense.
The Rhodes Brothers are proving to be excellent WWE Tag Team Champions. The only problem is, as long as they are champions, all the other face teams are bumped back in the queue.
The Usos have been excellent of late, and putting them in an elimination tag team match would certainly make sense. The Real Americans are also going great guns, too.
Throw two more teams in and you have your ten men required for a Survivor Series match—with a twist.
Team Divas vs. Team Total Divas
2 of 5
With AJ Lee again defending her Divas Championship at Hell in a Cell, it almost feels like she is running out of challengers.
Brie Bella has come and gone, whilst Kaitlyn has also been dispatched by Lee. With that in mind, creative may return to a former angle for Survivor Series.
The "Total Divas" angle could make a comeback, with Lee and her ally Tamina Snuka heading up a team of heel Divas.
As for the face Divas, the Bella Twins will no doubt lead that stable, with the likes of Alicia Fox making an appearance, too.
It would certainly give an opportunity for more Divas to showcase their skills.
Team Cena vs. Team Del Rio
3 of 5
After his victory over Damien Sandow on Raw, expect John Cena to keep the World Heavyweight Championship for a lengthy period of time.
And, with two credible challengers in the shape of Sandow and Alberto Del Rio in the firing line, creative may decide to pit them both against Cena in a traditional Survivor Series match.
It isn't like Cena would be short of potential allies from further down the card, is it?
Team Punk vs. Team Wyatt
4 of 5
With WWE teasing the potential end of The Shield, The Wyatt Family could be on the verge of being the top trio in WWE.
That is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that they took out both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk on Raw this week.
Unfortunately, Punk seems to be stranded in the middle of the card right now, meaning his only real option is to go after Bray Wyatt.
By teaming up with other Superstars who have been taken out by The Wyatts, such as The Miz and Kofi Kingston, you could have another Survivor Series match here.
Team Authority vs. Team Big Show
5 of 5
The feud between Big Show and Triple H has been escalating now for weeks. And with Show again crashing the party on Raw this past week, he could have just upset the COO once too often.
Could a five-on-five match happen with these two involved? Well, it's unclear where Randy Orton is headed as WWE Champion in terms of opponents, so he, The Shield and the newly recruited Kane could form a "Team Authority".
As well as that, there would be no end of Superstars looking to join forces with Show to take on the boss and end their rivalry once and for all.
