Is This the Year of the Bird, or Not?

Hello, sports fans! This is Sam Thompson bringing you the raw uncut sports news you know and love, reporting about our favorite team, the Arizona Cardinals.

Last year, we made it to the Super Bowl after some impressive and unbelievable postseason playing.

This could be our year, with some work. After what we saw last year offensively, it's easy to say that we will be feared throughout the 2009 season.

This will also make our already-tough schedule even more difficult, with lots of battered teams from last year coming back, with fury.

I think it's safe to say there will be some tough defenses aiming to take Warner out for the season.

There will definitely be some pressure on Warner and his two "weapons of mass destruction."

Last year during the regular season, we didn't watch the same game-playing as we witnessed in the playoffs. Instead, we saw some crucial defensive errors, some sloppy offensive plays, and what seemed to be a lack of drive to win.

Even with the devastating Carolina victory in the postseason, many fans and others doubted their ability all throughout the playoffs.

We saw these same errors in the Super Bowl, when we gained the lead and could hold on to it.

For most teams this year, we will be a strong contender. Our offense is one of the best I have ever seen in the history of the NFL. If your defense isn't fast enough to guard Bolden and Fitzgerald, you are done...on the other hand, if we don't revamp our defense, we will be in trouble against teams like Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and the NY Giants.

We will have great challenges along the road...I sure hope we are ready for them.

I am rooting for the Cardinals, but only time will tell.

News, like that of Kurt Warner playing for another season, is definitely enough to lift spirits.

I think it's safe to say there will be a lot more devoted fans gathering to support the team that might be the next Super Bowl champ.
