Jordy Nelson's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 8

Tyler BrookeJun 7, 2018

After a huge game against the Minnesota Vikings, Jordy Nelson continues to be one of the most reliable fantasy wide receivers in the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers won without much trouble, beating the Vikings 44-31 to move to 5-2 on the season.  Nelson was easily the player of the game, going for 123 yards and two touchdowns on seven receptions.  In ESPN's standard scoring leagues, that was good enough for 24 fantasy points, the most he's scored all season.

While Randall Cobb and James Jones have been dealing with injuries, Nelson has stepped up.  Including this game against the Vikings, Nelson has had a touchdown in three straight games.  Heading into Sunday, he already had 526 yards, five touchdowns and 32 catches.  He's had just two games with fewer than 10 fantasy points, and he continues to be a consistent fantasy receiver.

Things will get even better for Nelson down the road.  The Packers have an incredibly easy remaining schedule, and that means this offense will put up some huge numbers for the rest of the year.

While the other two big names at wide receiver get healthy, Nelson is going to continue being the go-to guy for Aaron Rodgers in the passing game.  Until they come back, Nelson will be a certain WR1 and will still be an easy WR2 once they both come back.
