Calvin Johnson vs. Dez Bryant: Who Won Battle of Star WRs?
Can't we all just agree that Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant are both unfair physical specimens that any team in the NFL would be unbelievably lucky to have?
Megatron, that sound all right with you? Dez, how about you?
Geez. Fine. I guess not.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Leading up to Sunday, arguably the most enticing matchup on the slate was the Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys, two potential playoff teams with talent all over the field.
But the talk quickly transformed into Johnson vs. Bryant when the Cowboys electric wideout told an ESPN radio station in Dallas, via ESPN's Tim McMahon, "I believe I can do whatever (Johnson) can do."
It was a pretty harmless comment, really. Bryant also said that Johnson was "the best at what he does," while Bryant was "the best at what I do."
Nevertheless, the debate was started, and most of the public got it in their minds that Sunday's matchup would give a good indication of where each player stood.
I've always thought it silly to make snap judgments on one game, but Johnson did just about everything possible in 60 minutes to prove he is the best wide receiver in the world. Take a look at the final numbers:
| Catches | Targets | Yards | Touchdowns | |
| Calvin Johnson | 14 | 16 | 329 | 1 |
| Dez Bryant | 3 | 6 | 72 | 2 |
Nope, that's not a typo. As ESPN Stats & Info pointed out, Johnson's yardage was the second-most in NFL history:
That's 63 more yards than the Cowboys had as a team, in case you were wondering.
Unstoppable doesn't really begin to describe his day. In the first quarter, he took a short slant, brushed off a few defenders and ran away from the defense for an 87-yard gain, setting up a 2-yard TD reception.
He continued to carve out chunks of yardage all game before really putting on a show in the fourth quarter. With the Lions trailing by 10 and just less than seven minutes remaining, he went up in double coverage and pulled down this 54-yard reception to set up a quick touchdown:

When they took over with just over a minute remaining, he reeled in two more catches for another 39 yards, taking the Lions to the 1-yard line and putting Matthew Stafford in position for the game-winning touchdown plunge.
Now, to be fair, Bryant was spectacular in his own right. He may have only pulled in three catches, but one was a 50-yard score that seemingly put the game out of reach, and one was a one-handed grab in the end zone that belongs on every Catch of the Year list:

Unfortunately, Bryant's day somewhat exemplified who he is as a player. While he can do some unbelievable things on the field, he was also caught on the sideline arguing multiple times. In addition to the instance above, he also got into an argument with Jason Witten at the end of the game.
In the meantime, Johnson is off quietly having a historic day.
Bryant can be superhuman at times, but Johnson proved on Sunday that transformers are a level above superhuman.
