Dexter McCluster's Updated Fantasy Value After Week 8
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dexter McCluster had himself his best game of the season in his team's Week 8 contest against the Cleveland Browns.
He and quarterback Alex Smith hooked up on seven passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also had one carry for five yards and a fumble that Kansas City recovered.
Even with No. 1 wide receiver Dwayne Bowe active, McCluster served as the No. 1 receiver against Cleveland.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Prior to Week 8, McCluster had just five catches for 80 yards in the past two games combined. He also hadn't brought in a touchdown until this week.
He is far from establishing himself as a top fantasy receiver (especially when you consider the fact that he's not even a No. 1 on his own team), but owners would do well to pick him up off waivers this week.
If he remains hot through future weeks, then owners should consider activating him in a flex or No. 3 receiver position. With no astronomical expectations in those positions, McCluster should be able to muster enough production to make him viable in those spots, and he offers upside.
Smith has shown that he likes to spread the ball around, so McCluster could easily be a benefactor in the future. But monitor his situation and put in a waiver claim for him. It's worth the risk.
