NBA Live 14: Ultimate Team and Other Features to Be Unveiled in Coming Weeks
Ultimate Team figures to be a big part of the appeal for EA Sports' NBA Live 14 when it releases on Nov. 19 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The mode that blends card-collecting with fantasy sports has been a huge hit for the FIFA, NHL and Madden NFL series. EA Sports is obviously hoping for the same success with the NBA Live version of UT.
Hoops is perhaps the best sport for the concept because one player can impact team success more than in any other sport. Thus, obtaining a killer card can make a huge difference in winning and losing.
We don’t know the ins and outs of UT in NBA Live 14 yet, but per the game’s official Twitter account, the details on the mode will be revealed next week.
The tweet above was posted during a developer Q&A session where many fans of the series had their questions about the upcoming game answered. Along with discussions about Ultimate Team, the use of advanced statistics was also brought up.
Synergy Sports Inclusion
For those who are unaware, Synergy Sports is a premier advanced statistics firm that provides in-depth statistical information for professional sports organizations in a variety of sports. Many of the scouting reports coaching staffs use to prepare for opponents comes from firms like Synergy Sports.
The NBA Live series is using the data to ensure players react and perform as realistic as possible on the virtual court. Per the Twitter Q&A session, the information that breaks down Synergy Sports involvement in the development of NBA Live 14 is also forthcoming.
With dynamic updates now a major part of the roster update process, expect Synergy Sports data to play a role in every update made to the rosters.
Over the next two weeks, we’ll likely learn just what the newest version of NBA Live 14 has in store for fans.
