WWE Hell in a Cell 2013: Feuds That Need to Be Added to Event Card

Daine PavloskiOct 22, 2013

It's October in the WWE, which can only mean one thing: It's time for WWE's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Hell in a Cell is one of WWE's best secondary pay-per-views that has become a huge platform for ending the summer's major feuds.

This year's Hell in a Cell is even more important than usual. The WWE has had a few rough Monday Night Raws in the ratings department and had a Battleground pay-per-view with a cliffhanger ending that wasn't exactly appreciated by everyone in the WWE Universe. Hell in a Cell 2013 has to not only be a great show, it has to make up for the recent rough patch in the WWE.

As this year's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view rolls ever closer, here are a few last-minute matches that should be added to the card to spice things up a bit.

Real Americans vs. Los Matadores

1 of 5

Los Matadores have done a great job establishing a connection with the WWE Universe in a very short amount of time. The Superstars formerly known as Epico and Primo, with the addition of veteran mini El Torito, have brought back a lucha libre style of wrestling that hasn't been done well in the WWE in a very long time.

The logical matchup for Los Matadores would be Zeb Coulter's jingoistic Real Americans team of Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro. While they haven't had much time in the ring opposite each other, these two teams have had a feud bubbling through a few distractions and Zeb Coulter's unfortunate incident involving El Torito.

These teams haven't been put on the card as of Monday Night Raw, but adding them to the card at the last minute could easily make a Match of the Night candidate on a loaded pay-per-view. These teams will most likely jump full force into a feud in the next few weeks, but starting things off at Hell in a Cell would be a great preview and just an overall solid match.

The Miz and Kofi Kingston vs. the Wyatt Family

Throughout the last few months, the Wyatt Family has been wreaking havoc on the WWE locker room, but for the last few shows, they've shifted their focus mainly to Kofi Kingston and the Miz, which turned into a tag team match on the go-home edition of Monday Night Raw.

A match needs to be added at Hell in a Cell involving these Superstars, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a tag team match. It could be a singles match with managers or anything else—it just needs to involve the Wyatt Family and Kofi and/or Miz in some way.

Why does this match need to be added? With Bray Wyatt injured, according to Marc Middleton of WrestleInc.com, the Wyatts must find a way to stay relevant with their fearless leader confined to his old-timey rocking chair. The best way to keep them relevant is by putting Luke Harper and Eric Rowan into matches to do Bray's bidding. Since they have been working against Miz and Kofi anyway, this would be a great opportunity to get another PPV match under their very large belts and keep Bray interesting as he heals up.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler have met 13 times in a WWE ring. Three of those matches were battles for the United States Championship, including a championship match in Detroit at this year's Night of Champions pay-per-view.

Ziggler and Ambrose are very similar Superstars in that they are extremely talented in the ring, especially when it comes to selling, and they are both very gifted on the mic. They both have extremely strong connections with the WWE Universe and, to pile it on, have put on some great matches in the last few months.

With the belts off Rollins and Reigns, The Shield is looking a little weaker than normal. This match should be added, not only because it's a championship and it should be defended at pay-per-views, but because Ambrose, as the apparent leader of The Shield, should want to prove that The Shield is still strong. He should be looking for matches, and there's no better opponent for him on the roster than Dolph Ziggler.

Ziggler and Ambrose are both guys who can put on show-stealing matches with anyone. When put together, it's been pretty awesome. Adding this match would be a great boost to the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

Santino vs. Fandango

I know, I know...Fandango and Santino? Taking a spot on a pay-per-view card? Seems silly, right?

Wrong.

While anything involving these two Superstars is inherently silly, a match like this is obligatory at WWE pay-per-views. Fans need time, especially before the intense main events and big matches, to get a breather. The crowd has to come down a bit before they get really pumped up. Usually, this duty falls to the hopeless, no-story Divas matches, but now, with AJ making each Divas match one worth watching, the WWE needs a new "bathroom break" match.

Enter Santino vs. Fandango. These two have had a few silly, dance-related matches since Santino's return, and while they are both silly, they are surprisingly solid in the ring, especially Santino. Adding a six- or seven-minute match to the card wouldn't take much away from the big acts while giving the crowd a few moments to catch their breath before the hellish main events.

Big Show vs. Triple H

It's too early for a match between Big Show and Triple H. Correction: It normally would be too early for a match between Big Show and Triple H. After a disappointing Battleground pay-per-view, it's the perfect time for a huge, mind-blowing last-second addition to the Hell in a Cell card.

According to PWMania.com, fans who attended the Battleground pay-per-view weren't very happy that they didn't get a definitive ending to the Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton match for the WWE Championship. The whole power outage probably didn't help, either.

Fans were left with a bad taste in their mouths after Battleground. The best way to get back on their good side? Give them something insane that they didn't expect.

That's where Big Show and Triple H come in. Big Show and Triple H are building to what seems like an eventual showdown in the ring. Imagine if Big Show came out at Hell in a Cell during a match and Triple H was simply fed up with him. He takes off his corporate suit and makes a match for later in the night—Big Show vs. Triple H, with some wacky stipulation.

While it's not all that likely for this match to be added, this isn't "Matches That Will Likely Be Added to Hell in a Cell," it's "Matches That Need to Be Added." Adding this match during the pay-per-view would be absolutely crazy, but it would be the huge thank you to the fans that the WWE Universe deserves after a few strange months.
