Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather is no stranger to questionable hits, and after delivering two more in his team's 45-41 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the NFL determined that significant discipline was necessary.

Meriweather was initially suspended two games by the league, as indicated by ESPN's Andrew Brandt:

NFL suspends Brandon Meriweather two games for repeat violations of safety rules. At $1.2 million salary, will cost him $141,000.

Later the punishment reportedly was reduced to a one-game suspension without pay, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
