ODDS VIA SCORESANDODDS.com
Despite being on the road and being ranked lower, the 'Noles are coming into this marquee matchup as the favorite. The public loves Jameis Winston under center and believes that the Heisman candidate can continue to cover the spread.
It’s not completely out of the realm of possibility, as Florida State has won 11 of their last 12 battles with conference foes.
However, Clemson has history on its side. The Tigers have covered the spread and won in each of the past five matchups played in Memorial Stadium. FSU has been burning its backers in this rivalry game, as it is just 1-7 ATS over the past eight contests vs. the Tigers
Regardless of the opponent, Clemson players come to play when the linesmakers disrespect them at home and install them as the ‘dog. The team is 7-3 ATS in when expected to lose in Death Valley over the last 10 years.
Go with the Tigers here, as their combined offensive and defensive prowess should be enough to scrape by the Seminoles after a back-and-forth war that will be decided by a handful of big plays and critical stops.
Clemson has the big game experience and home crowd advantage and that will be the difference in this showdown with unproven Florida State.
Prediction: Clemson 28 - Florida State 24
