Cincinnati Bengals vs. Detroit Lions
Line: DET by 3
According to ESPN.com, the Detroit Lions are early three-point favorites over the Cincinatti Bengals. Both teams come into this matchup at 4-2, and while Detroit may be slight favorites, keep an eye on Cincy throughout the week.
The Lions have only lost two games, to Arizona and Green Bay, and are coming off a win over Cleveland, but Cincy has something incredibly important on its side: momentum. The Bengals have won two games in a row, including an impressive victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The Bengals are ranked 16th in both passing and running, and they have a solid defense, ranked in the top 10 against both the run and the pass.
The Lions have a high-powered offense, which can be seen in their 284 yards per game through the air, but they've been struggling with injuries, namely Calvin Johnson, and haven't played a full four quarters. They make almost every game close, whether it's a win or a loss like their 40-32 win over the Bears or their 25-21 loss to the Cardinals. The Lions just can't seem to put bad teams down and they can't get it done against elite teams, like the Packers.
The Bengals are no slouches. They have the defensive weapons to tangle with the formidable Lions offense and have just enough offense in Benjarvis Green-Ellis, Giovanni Bernard and AJ Green to get past a Detroit defense that can't seem to stay consistent. The Bengals will cover against the Lions.
PREDICTION: Bengals 27, Detroit 24
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Line: Philadelphia by 1
The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will do battle once again to decide who will gain sole ownership of the NFC East. Both Philly and Dallas have had some impressive games, but the Eagles' top-tier offense has earned them a spot as one-point favorites in Week 7.
Philly and Dallas are going to have a big-time showdown in Week 7, with both offenses primed to explode. But an early one-point spread is easy to take advantage of with these two teams, especially when you look at the last few weeks from the Dallas Cowboys offense, putting up almost 80 combined points in the last two games.
The Dallas offense is simply too good for the subpar Philly defense that allows over 314 yards through the air per contest which is second worst in the league. Tony Romo has thrown for over 1,600 yards this season with 14 touchdowns and has some stellar targets in the passing game in Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, who both have over 30 catches on the year.
Dallas simply has too many weapons on offense for Philadelphia to handle and will easily cover the spread and get the win.
PREDICTION: Dallas 42, Philadelphia 35
Chicago Bears vs. Washington Redskins
Line: Washington by 2
The Chicago Bears enter Week 7 at 4-2 against the 1-4 Washington Redskins, but somehow Jay Cutler and his boys are two-point underdogs in the early lines. Cutler and the Bears snapped their two-game losing streak last week against the Giants, but they made it a little too interesting, winning by just six points.
Week 7 will be different, as they take on RGIII and the Redskins. While it's still early in the week, there's no reason to think that the Chicago Bears can't continue to right the ship and get back to their winning ways against the Redskins, who have struggled to perform against good teams.
The Redskins are in the bottom ten in both rushing and passing yards allowed per game, which is bad news seeing as the Bears are one of the better offensive units in the league when they get things rolling. They have only scored less than 24 points once this season and have thrived when Jay Cutler plays well, allowing Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, who both have over 450 yards receiving, to run rampant on defensive units around the league.
The Bears probably aren't the best team in the NFC North, but they're much better than the Washington Redskins, and they'll cover the early spread in Week 7 due to their excellent passing game and great run defense.
PREDICTION: Chicago 17, Washington 7
