WWE SmackDown: Spoiler-Free Preview for Oct. 11
The first WWE SmackDown after Battleground offers an Intercontinental Championship match, the Rhodes family going to battle and all the jobber tag team action you can handle.
The main event matches are set for Hell in a Cell 2013, but the undercard has yet to be announced. Look for questions to begin to be answered about who joins the marquee stars on that pay-per-view.
Curtis Axel has to face a familiar foe with his title on the line. Alberto Del Rio clashes with a man who could take away his championship by way of a Money in the Bank contract.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Masks, tag teams and a Diva's shot at redemption in the ring highlight the Oct. 11 SmackDown. Here are all the matches to look forward to with the results omitted.
Brie Bella and The Funkadactyls vs. Natalya, Kaitlyn and Eva Marie
Perhaps WWE officials didn't watch Eva Marie in action on Monday's Raw.
Her in-ring debut was proof positive that she is nowhere ready. She was horrid. Still, she gets some action here in a six-Diva tag match.
Kaitlyn, the only Diva of this match not on Total Divas, is a welcome surprise after being inactive in recent weeks.
The Prime Time Players and The Great Khali vs. 3MB
Titus O'Neil and Darren Young get a giant ally as they take on 3MB. The wanna-be rockers' record points to this being a guaranteed win for the fan favorites, but even Barry Horowitz won a match, so who knows.
The one certainty here is that this matchup cements that The Prime Time Players have slipped away from tag team title contention.
O'Neil and Young hung with The Shield at Night of Champions and that shot at the championship appears to be the only one they're getting for the time being. Wrestling 3MB is a major step down.
Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth (Intercontinental Championship)
R-Truth has another opportunity to take Axel's title away.
The challenger lost to the champion at Battleground and must find a way to avoid Axel's running swinging neckbreaker this time around. Paul Heyman will loom at ringside and Axel will look to continue a reign that is the longest in IC title history since Cody Rhodes'.
Fans will be curious if R-Truth's latest semi-push will lead to him morphing into the reverend character featured on the Hell in a Cell promo video.
Los Matadores vs. Los Locales
Ricardo Rodriguez wrestles as his secret identity in a tag match with masks aplenty.
Los Matadores are undefeated since debuting, thanks to piling up a number of wins against 3MB. They face a new challenge in a tag team that evokes memories of unknown jobbers from WWE's past.
Eyes will be on El Torito, the high-flying ally of WWE's bullfighters. Thus far, he's been the highlight of this repackaged tag team.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Damien Sandow
The current world champion faces the self-proclaimed "uncrowned champion." Del Rio will have his mind on his upcoming battle with John Cena at Hell in a Cell while Damien Sandow looks to make the most of his moment.
An excellent showing here will help make Sandow seem more dangerous as a champion in waiting.
Sandow showed off amplified aggression on Monday's Raw against Dolph Ziggler. Del Rio has been increasingly merciless over the last few weeks.
Whose viciousness will win out?
Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. The Wyatt Family
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan will do everything they can to make Cody Rhodes and Goldust's return to WWE a hellish experience.
The two bearded brawlers take on two brothers on a major roll. After defeating The Shield at Battleground to get back their jobs, Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeated them via disqualification on Raw with Daniel Bryan's help.
SmackDown could offer a hint of what's next for this team.
Will their rivalry with The Shield continue, will they begin a long battle with the Wyatt Family or does WWE have other plans for the brothers?
