Full Preview for WWE Main Event Featuring 3MB and Tons of Funk
Remember when the whole point of Main Event was to produce a main event-level match each week? Those were good times.
Main Event used to produce the match of the week on a pretty regular basis, but lately the show has begun to drift close to being like Superstars than being like Main Event.
This week's show features three matches that do not feature anyone who could be considered a main eventer at this point, but that doesn't necessarily mean the matches will be all bad.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Let's take a look at the matches that are scheduled for the show, spoiler-free.
3MB vs. Tons of Funk
A main event match usually implies a big star is involved, but this is not one of those situations.
3MB and Tons of Funk are both teams that are featured regularly on television, but rarely have more than a match or two in a row where their hands are being raised.
This will be a pretty standard match. Since it is a handicap match we will see TOF as the underdogs, which is rare given their sheer size and power.
Hopefully the match is better than I think it will be, but we have seen Slater job to Clay several times in the past, so this will likely be another match without a lot to highlight.
Tamina vs. Aksana
AJ is out with a concussion, which means Tamina has to keep herself relevant until she comes back. Putting her in a match with Aksana certainly keeps her visible, but the match itself will be nothing special.
This is most likely going to be a squash, with the more powerful Tamina making Aksana look more like a rookie than she already does in the ring.
Tamina is actually very talented, which was evident during her feud for the Divas title. Unfortunately WWE didn't know what to do with her for several months following that feud, but now she has a chance to be a star again.
Playing AJ's bodyguard might not seem like an ideal role, but it is better than sitting on the sidelines doing nothing. Hopefully we get to see if Tamina is still able to dominate in the ring on Wednesday.
Big E. Langston vs. Zack Ryder
We've seen this match before, and we all know how it turned out the last time. Ryder was dominated by the much stronger Langston, which is likely to be the case again here.
WWE seems to have no intention of pushing Ryder right now, which means this will probably be another squash match.
Ryder and Langston are very different wrestlers who are both very talented in their own ways, so this might not be as bad as I think it will be. Ryder can get a crowd excited with a few fist pumps, and Langston's sheer strength is able to make his matches somewhat interesting.
Ryder will probably get in a Broski Boot, but when he goes for the Rough Ryder I fully expect Langston to push him up into the air so high that he lands flat on his back, allowing Langston to pick him up and finish him off with the Big Ending.
