Real Madrid Sign 9-Year-Old Wonderkid Takuhiro Nakai; Watch 'Pipi' Play

Real Madrid have been planning for the future by signing a nine-year-old to their youth program, but given the skills Takuhiro Nakai, also known as "Pipi," displays in this video, you can see why they were so desperate to bag him early.

According to Marca (Spanish, reported in English via 101 Great Goals), Nakai first came to prominence in Japan two years ago when he showcased his talent on television.

Of course, talents picked up at this age do not necessarily mature into top-class footballers, but there are few better places to develop than in Madrid.

Meanwhile, Barcelona recently signed an 11-year-old nicknamed the "Japanese Messi," Takefusa Kubo.

It would be a lot of fun if the two ever faced off in a Clasico (and the viewing figures in the Far East would probably be pretty good, too).
