New Orleans Saints (+2) over New England Patriots
The most interesting game of the week will be the battle between the New Orleans Saints and the New England Patriots. With New England playing at home, the team starts as a two-point favorite.
New England is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and looked terrible offensively. New Orleans didn’t play its best game Sunday either, but it managed to hold on to the win over a tough Chicago Bears team.
There is a very real chance the Saints beat the Patriots outright Sunday (New Orleans is still undefeated), and given two points to start with, it should be enough for fans to make this wager.
Predicted Final Score: New Orleans 38, New England 31
Denver Broncos (-28) over Jacksonville Jaguars
The Denver Broncos enter Week 6’s matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars with the largest spread in history (-28), according to Josh Katzowitz of CBS Sports. Despite the college football-esque line, ride the Broncos until they prove someone can stop them.
It will not be the Jaguars; the team is 0-5 this season against the spread this season.
Numbers don’t lie. While Jacksonville’s defense has been bad (11th against the pass and 32nd against the run), it will be the putrid offense (29th passing and 30th running the ball) that renders the team unable to match the pace of Denver.
There is no reason to think the Broncos won't hang at least 50 points on the Jaguars Sunday.
Predicted Final Score: Denver 52, Jacksonville 17
Indianapolis Colts (-1) over San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers come home after a devastating loss to the Oakland Raiders, but the Monday Night Football matchup in Week 6 will be against the one-point favorite Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts beat the Seattle Seahawks last week, and they also managed to beat the San Francisco 49ers earlier this season. With San Diego failing to live up to those teams' high standards defensively, Indianapolis will have a monster game offensively.
The Chargers have an offensive unit that could go toe-to-toe with the Colts, but with quarterback Philip Rivers throwing three interceptions and running back Ryan Mathews suffering a concussion, per Matt Calkins and Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego, this should be an easy win for Indianapolis.
Predicted Final Score: Indianapolis 30, San Diego 24
