All NASCAR Writers: Creature vs. Creature Expansion — DEADLINE THIS EVENING
UPDATED Thursday @ 4:28 PM:
We will be cutting the requests off this evening. As of right now, we have a total of 13 writers that are going to be taking place in the writing, so if you haven't submitted an e-mail to me or Mason Dunn, you need to do it now! You have until about 8 or 9 PM/ET to let us know something.
Once we publish this week's article (which will come in the morning), we will not accept any other invitations. Thanks for all those who have come on board in the last day and we all look forward to a fun weekend of racing and picks here on B/R!
Good evening NASCAR Community! Have you been wanting to be part of the B/R Creature vs. Creature weekly driver picks?
Well your chance is now!
Due to overwhelming demand, the writers have decided to open the weekly picks up to another group of writers.
There is one catch: the current six writers (LJ Burgess has opted to bow out) will maintain their current points and points position.
Although the points don't mean much between now and the Chase, the writers have established a competition between the six and are using the points as bragging rights.
Basically, those entering will come in 1,000-plus points behind, but will have the opportunity to earn wins, which is all that matters come Chase time.
Each writer receives 10 bonus points for correctly picking a race winner and our current leaders have two wins apiece. A couple writers have one win and a couple of us (myself included) have yet to win a race, so you are even with us already!
Picks are due by Thursday night and the article (which is featured weekly on CBSSports.com and Jayski.com) is posted early Friday morning before lunch-time.
We only need people who are dedicated to the picks and sure they can make the Thursday deadline each week.
If you miss the deadline and the article is posted, your name will say: No Pick Sent. If you get the pick in before qualifying begins (which is usually Friday afternoon), your pick may still get added, but anytime after that it will not, so only those dedicated need to express interest.
Mason Dunn will be assisting me in accepting the weekly picks and keeping track of points. Who sends their picks to who will depend on the amount of people interested.
The current six will continue to send their picks my way and we'll see how many people get added before we decide what to do with the rest.
Are you interested?
Send an e-mail to me and Mason at the following addresses:
Me: bbomberger@bleacherreport.com
Mason: dunn.mason@yahoo.com
Please send us an e-mail ASAP if you are interested so we can get an accurate idea of how many we are going to have. I'm not setting a deadline necessarily, but please do it within a reasonable time so we know where we are.
By the way, there are no limits on how many times you select a driver, nor is there any requirements that a driver is only selected once among all the writers.
Everyone picks whoever they want every weekend; it's that simple.
What are you still reading for? Send me and Mason an e-mail now!
Disclosure: This will be the absolute last time we consider anyone to be added to the group, so let us know now if you are interested!
