Victor Cruz's Updated 2013 Fantasy Outlook and Trade Value After Week 4

After a frustrating week that saw Victor Cruz make just three catches for 25 yards, the New York Giants wide receiver got back on track in Week 4. He's racked up over 100 yards in the first half, most on a 69-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning.

He finished the game with 10 receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown. 

Cruz was one of the most effective fantasy receivers in the first two weeks. He had a monster performance in Week 1, scoring three touchdowns en route to 29 points in standard leagues. Then he added 11 more the following week.

So it's apparent the lackluster showing against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 was only a blip on the radar. He's going to remain a must-start fantasy option every week as the top target for Manning in a Giants offense that's forced to lean on the passing game.

As for his trade value, owners with depth at wide receiver who might be looking to land a marquee player at another position for Cruz should wait another week.   

New York goes up against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. The Giants' division rivals are giving up over 320 yards per game through the air, which should mean another big game is on the horizon for Cruz next weekend.

After that game he should reach peak value. Then owners with other receivers hoping to capitalize on their investment should be able to swap him for a quarterback or running back of similar high value to create a more well-rounded squad. 

Owners that don't have depth can keep him and continue to expect top-tier production.
