A Favre Return Could Shoulder Bad Results
It was only a matter of time until Brett Favre appeared in the news with the words "could be coming out of retirement" following his name. As many fans begin to roll their eyes, the question still remains: Is it a wise decision?
We all know the story last year. We all know how annoying the story got. Some fans got excited, others disagreed with Favre's decision. It was the great offseason debate that never seemed to end.
Well it's back, but with a slight twist.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
With speculation that the Minnesota Vikings are showing strong interest, the notion of a Favre return begins to be intriguing. Just imagine the matchup: No. 4 travelling into Green Bay, walking out of that green and yellow tunnel eager to start the game, running onto Lambeau Field—all while wearing a purple jersey.
Welcome the new public enemy No. 1!
Now the media is foaming at the mouth at this point. But lets be realistic: Can Favre be the final piece of the Vikings puzzle" Can he bring a legitimate passing game for the entire season? Maybe most importantly, is he healthy enough to return?
Now if the regular season was only 10 games, I would say, "Absolutely." In 2008 with the New York Jets, Favre took the team to an 8-2 record, beating teams like the Titans (unbeaten to that point) and the Super Bowl participant Arizona Cardinals.
In those ten games, Favre has five games where he posted a QB rating of 100 or better. He threw 21 TDs and only 13 INTs. (For a gunslinger like Favre, who holds the record for most interceptions, thats pretty good)
Unfortunately for Brett, there are still six more games in the regular season (seven or eight more if Roger Goodell gets his wish). In those games, Favre took a team that turned heads, a team who were becoming a Super Bowl favorite, right back to obscurity.
Dennis Green said it best: "They are who we thought they were." Favre's numbers began slipping greatly. His QB rating never got above 61. Turnovers began to plague the team—turnovers that can be credited to Favre. Nine INTs to only two TDs.
As I look onto this season, the Vikings are on the cusp of being a great team. There is no question their weakness is at QB. But to take the route of a quick fix instead of player development, the Vikings could be taking a step backwards, and pulling Favre's reputation with them.
