NFL Week 4 Predictions: Can't-Miss Picks for Every Weekend Game

Mike HoagJun 8, 2018

The first round of bye weeks has arrived, as the NFL barrels forward into Week 4 of its 17-week campaign. Before we get to Week 5, four winless teams will have the chance to get in the win column prior to a much-needed week off.

All seven of the remaining unbeaten teams will be in action in Week 4, but how many will improve to 4-0? Miami will face New Orleans, so only sixโ€”at mostโ€”will maintain their perfect records.

Weโ€™ll look at some of those unbeaten teams in more detail below, but first take a look at predictions for every Week 4 matchup.

New York Giants (0-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)

If the struggling New York Giants were hoping for a reprieve in Week 4, they wonโ€™t get it. Andy Reid has the talented Kansas City Chiefs finally believing and already in the win column more this year than in 2012.

Alex Smith has been the anti-Eli Manning through three games, remaining poised in the pocket and not trying to do too much.

Meanwhile, Manning has forced the issue and tossed a league-high eight interceptions. The Chiefs have a league-best plus-nine turnover ratio.

The Chiefsโ€™ swarming defense is also problematic for Manning and Co. Behind Justin Houstonโ€™s 7.5 sacks, the unit has recorded a league-high 15 sacks through three games. The Giants' quarterback has already been dropped 11 times.

Expect another dominant defensive performance from the Chiefs and multiple turnovers by the Giants, as they become the third NFC East team in a row to fall to Reidโ€™s squad.

Prediction: Chiefs 27, Giants 10

Seattle Seahawks (3-0) at Houston Texans (2-1)

After being embarrassed by the Baltimore Ravens last week, the Houston Texans return home to try to prevent the Seattle Seahawks from reaching 4-0 for the first time in franchise history.

With the way the Texans looked last week, itโ€™s hard to believe theyโ€™ll get it done.

Matt Schaub threw two interceptions and the team committed 14 penalties to hamper any type of offensive production. In the second half, Baltimore held the Texans to just over 100 yards of total offense.

Against the Seahawksโ€”who have forced 10 turnovers and are leading the league with just 27 points allowedโ€”those mistakes can and will be crippling. Seattle boasts the leagueโ€™s best pass defense, which will be a challenge for turnover-prone Schaub and new receiving weapon DeAndre Hopkins.

In the end, expect the Seahawks to win another decisive victory by stifling the Texans offensively and doing enough on offense to win comfortably.

Prediction: Seahawks 24, Texans 14

Miami Dolphins (3-0) at New Orleans Saints (3-0)

The battle of the unbeaten will be a treat on Monday Night Football in Week 4.

While itโ€™s shocking that both are 3-0 heading into this game, the Dolphins are the biggest surprise of this young 2013 season. Riding a potent pass rush and the arm of Ryan Tannehill, Miami has beaten two playoff teams from 2012 already.

On the other side of the equation, the New Orleans Saints are playing to their potential again after getting head coach Sean Payton back on the sidelines and hiring Rob Ryan to revamp a defense that was historically bad in 2012.

Tannehill proved last week that he can duel with the big boys, engineering a 13-play, 75-yard drive in the closing minutes to topple Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. He capped it off with a one-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Dion Sims with 38 seconds left on the clock.

Heโ€™ll need to be as clutch, if not more, for the Dolphins to keep the Saintsโ€™ emerging offense at bay. After struggling for two weeks, Brees and the Saints put up 31 points last week against the Arizona Cardinals.

Prediction: Dolphins 30, Saints 27
